Co-Founders Andrew Klein and Jarod Clark, now Unleaded's respective Creative Director and President, met at Colgate University in New York. "We happened to be freshman-year roommates," says Klein. "He was the computer programmer and I was the creative one -- luck of the draw."
The duo launched Unleaded in 2004 "from a basement of a loft on Blake Street," says Klein, describing Clark as a "prodigy." The company took off in 2009. Now based in Arapahoe Square, the company has 25 employees, and a fresh new bank of solar panels atop its building at 2314 Broadway.
"People come to us because we have a great design aesthetic but we also push conversion," says Klein. "We've got the full range of a larger agency but we're still fairly small."
Unleaded's size means customer service is not delegated, he adds. "All of our clients have my cell phone and Jarod's cell phone so they're not calling some call center when they need help."
