The Illumen Group, an IT consulting firm based in southeast Denver, is looking to fill positions in engineering and account management by early 2014. It currently has about 20 employees.
CEO Mike Jenner acquired Illumen in 2012 after years working for large tech companies like AT&T and Trizetto.
"The capabilities this company has put together over the past dozen years rival anything I've seen at AT&T or Trizetto," says Jenner.
Originally founded by Enrique Krajmalnik in 2000, Illumen currently has "well over 100 customers," says Jenner. Krajmalnik remains the company's CTO.
Clients run a gamut of industries, says Jenner, higlighting energy, healthcare, light manufacturing, and food services. "We are very similar to Colorado," he notes. "Our clients have offices in over 20 states, but virtually all of them are headquartered in metro Denver."
Illumen was the runner up for the Denver/Boulder Better Business Bureau's 2013 Torch Award. "It's an award for developing trust with your customers and exhibiting a high degree of business ethics," says Jenner. "We have a long-term commitment to continuing to improve our business around the things that the BBB measures."
Jenner moved from New Jersey to Denver in 2006 to work for Trizetto. "We love it," says Jenner. "One of the reasons I pursued the acquisition is we wanted to stay."
