FORTRUST gets nod from Uptime Institute

The Uptime Institute approved FORTRUST, a RiNo-based data center, for its Management and Operations (M&O) excellence. Only 14 data centers worldwide have received the approval.

"We're the only Tier 3 data center certified by the Uptime Institute in Colorado," touts David Shepard, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at FORTRUST, dubbing the Uptime Institute "the most renowned third-party validator of data centers in Colorado."

The $150 million data center and colocation facility in north Denver has about 40 employees is one of the most rugged facilities of its kind in the Rockies.

The Uptime Institute also certifies data centers for their engineering and construction, but the M&O approval "takes it to the next level," says Shepard. "It really is a unique differentiator in the market."

The approval sets it apart from the competition, as many data centers lack a long track record, he adds. "There are a lot of new entrants into the market who have no experience with data centers.

Launched in 2001, FORTRUST hit a milestone in September 2013. "We have maintained 12 years of continuous uptime with our critical infrastructure," says Shepard. "It's a tangible validation of that M&O stamp."
