Cloud Elements is on the cusp of making three hires to bring the staff to 15 employees, says Mark Geene, Co-Founder and CEO. The company offers pre-built "Elements" that integrate various systems with the cloud.
"They're like Lego blocks," says Geene. "You can plug and play."
Founded in July 2012, the company is based in Galvanize with additional space in the Innovation Pavilion, and Geene says the company will probably have employees at a coworking space in Boulder soon.
Before starting Cloud Elements, Geene was CEO of Denver's
ChannelInsight, and Co-Founder Vineet Yoshi served as his CTO. The pair offered SaaS/cloud consulting with Cloud Elements' third Co-Founder, Atul Barve, after respectively leaving ChannelInsight.
"We were solving the same problems over and over," says Geene of the consulting work. Most of the work involved integrations of cloud-based services. "The typical app has three to six SaaS services today. In 12 to 24 months, that number will quadruple. It's a problem that's going to get worse."
Cloud Elements' pre-built solutions take on integrations that normally take hundreds of hours. "We can take that down to less than an hour," says Geene. Monthly subscriptions start at $100 per integration, a price that includes monitoring and maintenance. The company currently offer about 20 of its Elements, and that number should double by year's end, adds Geene.
Cloud Elements is self-funded to date, but Geene doesn't rule out an infusion of VC, especially after presenting at Venture Capital in the Rockies in early March. "We got a fantastic reception," he's says.
