Growing Aventura releases SportsCenter parody video

Aventura
has released a video that parodies ESPN's SportsCenter ads by combining elements of Agile software development and rugby.
The common thread? Both Agile and rugby have scrums. In Agile, a scrum is a short morning meeting. In rugby, it's a logjam of players vying for the ball.
"Part of Agile development is a morning scrum," says Aventura CEO John Gobron. "It's really good at getting things in the open and problem-solving."
It follows that Aventura made a video (below) with the local
Denver Harlequins
rugby club that mashed the two scrums together.
"It was a ton of fun," says Gobron of the video, noting that it serves several purposes: recruiting, marketing, and boosting employee morale. He says the company will make several more "day in the life of an Aventurian" videos in the series in 2014.
Founded in 2008, Aventura makes a HIPAA-compliant "awareness computing" system for hospitals that allow medical professionals to use mobile devices and wean themselves off of paper, among other things. A new iteration of the system is due out in January 2014 that will increase its capacity and add several automated tools, says Gobron.
The company currently has 31 employees. Gobron says he expects to make six to eight hires in 2014 in the areas of project management and business development.
